About Kevin:
A family friend of mine bought some carpet from the Roberts Carpet & Fine Floors Woodlands location and she noticed they were hiring and recommended me for the job. At the first company wide sales meeting for National Karastan Month (one of our biggest sales of the year), a lightbulb went off. Most of my co-workers had been in the industry for decades. I wanted a career and there was an opportunity to grow here. And I loved the family environment.
Kevin is friendly but reserved and hates to give a sales-pitch. Instead, he assists his customers by listening, and only then guiding them to make the best selection and value to fit their needs. He is a team player (after all, he is a former high school basketball coach!) and uses every resource available at Roberts Carpet & Fine Floors, including the expertise of his colleagues.
One of the virtues of working for a small company is being able to respond to customers quickly, even if I don’t readily have the answer myself. When a customer has a request that I can’t answer, I only have to make one phone call to the person that can directly make things happen. And when I need advice, I just call one of our other locations. For instance, if I have a question about patterned or wool carpet, I may call David (Roberts Carpet Kirby Store Manager) or Ron (Roberts Carpet Sugarland/Stafford Store Manager).
What do you want your customers to know about you?
I will do my best. I will offer value and I will be there when you have problems, in any capacity that I can be.
Money is no object, what floors do you put in your house?
I am in a flood zone, but if flooding were no object… I’d put in Karastan hardwood; their design team does a great job. I’d want carpet upstairs in the bedrooms though. I have a little girl and she falls sometimes, as kids do! Plus, I like to wake up to something soft underfoot.
