About Bill:
When I began working at Roberts Carpet in 1993, I had a chance to start over. People say you can’t start over. I’m living proof you can.
Bill is hardworking and adaptable. When the world around him changes, he puts his head down and works twice as hard. Utilizing his knowledge and experience, he stages each job in advance of installation, to predict and control for any potential complications. When things get unpredictable, he works with our Sales and Customer Care team to come up with a resolution to protect the customer’s investment.
I like my job – it is why I’ve stayed all these years. It’s challenging. I don’t have time to get bored. I never know what is going to fly through the window!
What did I do prior to flooring:
I was a boxer for the US boxing team from 1977-1980. That was the year the Olympics were canceled – it’s a sore subject! My dad always told me to do whatever I want, but make sure I have a trade to fall back on. That’s how I fell into Flooring.
What do you want your customers to know about you?
Communication is everything. I am a phone call away. If I am away from my desk, I will always call back. This is your home. You have to LIVE on (these floors), so let’s make sure you love ‘em. If you aren’t happy, it ain’t right. Let’s make it right.
Money is no object. What floors do you put in your home?
Hand-scraped engineered hardwood. Either white oak or hickory, random lengths, 5” width. A medium brown tone – not too dark or too light. I like hand-scraped because you can’t hurt it. It is easy to fix. Marker, seal, done. And I love a custom rug. Nobody else has it! I would purchase a carpet with a high pile, serge the edges, and sculpt/carve my own design.
