About Anthony:
As a teenager I worked at a fast-food chain. One of our regulars asked if I would be interested in a job in construction, working with her husband. I had no experience, but she saw something in me…she said she liked the way I carried myself. I was assigned to flooring, and I just winged it. Less than two years later one of our vendors approached me about working in sales. They were a material-only business, but shortly after I arrived, I helped them launch an installation business. I was 22 years old, one of the top 5 sales reps in their Houston division, and helping launch a new division (installation), but then new management took over. Who you work with matters, and they were moving in a different direction.
I met a Quorum installer while out on a job and decided to apply. I had to prove myself, but eventually Quorum started calling me regularly for work. The knowledge I gained and connections I made were priceless. I received a few different job-offers, including Operations Manager for an up-and-coming custom hardwood manufacturer, but I enjoyed working with Frank and the people at Quorum/Roberts Carpet though, so I ultimately chose to stick with them, but in a different role – sales. It’s challenging but that is what I love about it.
Anthony is a self-motivator. He puts 110% into everything he does. He maintains a positive attitude and never walks away from a challenge.
What is your favorite part of the job?
The huge, custom jobs, that are unique and complicated. I like problem solving. You know what? I LOVE problem solving.
What do you want your customers to know about you?
This isn’t just a job. I am selling myself – not just the floors. I can confidently say, if you work with me, you will be happy with me and your floors. When I write a first proposal, I won’t just give one option, I will give six. I will price them all out and include every detail. It takes a long time, but I want (my clients) to see every option and have the very best.
Money is no object. What floors do you put in your home?
A pre-finished engineered hardwood floor, like Duchateau Atelier. A true French Oak with wide planks. Long planks, 8-12 foot long. Select grade. And custom, prefab, squared treads in an L shape for the stairs. There is nothing like French Oak.
